“We can’t win with that high school offense!”
“We’ve got to start beating Georgia!!”

Hey, I understand. I’m a Tech grad, former cheerleader, and 32-year GT football season ticket holder. Losing to Georgia again and losing another bowl game hurts.

But to get rid of Paul Johnson would be a mistake.

Atlanta Silverbacks Will Not Have a Head Coach in 2014

The Atlanta Silverbacks will not have a head coach in 2014. Club Chairman Boris Jerkunica made the announcement Tuesday at the Georgia State Soccer Association (GSSA) headquarters: “We’re not going to hire a new coach. We’re actually going to eliminate that position.”

2013 Soccer Bowl Recap

In his post-game press conference, NASL Commissioner Bill Peterson said that the league couldn’t be happier with the game, the teams, and the atmosphere at the Soccer Bowl. “We thought it was a great evening, a wonderful atmosphere, and a great match on the field,” Peterson said. It’s easy to see why he was so satisfied.

Cosmos Jimmy Maurer – Back Home Again

New York Cosmos goalie Jimmy Maurer was born and raised in the South. It had to take a lot of courage (and a supportive wife), to move to distant places with strange cultures to further his career. Places like Chile. And New York City. But Maurer did just that, and his career and family are better off for it.

NASL Soccer Bowl – Who Will Join the Silverbacks?

With only 3 weeks left in the NASL Fall Season, the Soccer Bowl picture is coming into focus – and it’s looking very good for the New York Cosmos.

At this point, only three teams can still win the Fall championship: the Cosmos, who have 24 points; the Tampa Bay Rowdies with 17; and the Silverbacks with 16 points.
